INDEPENDENT: Independent defines our stance as a
local visible New Testament Church that is self
governing which answers not to a convention, group,
headquarters, but to Christ alone as He is our Head.
FUNDAMENTAL: We believe in the fundamental
principles of Scripture. We believe that the principles
found in the Bible are the fundamental blocks on which
our faith is built.
CHRIST CENTERED: Because Jesus gave His all for us,
it is only natural that his Church should want to honor
him and center their worship and praise around Him.
Jesus said "If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto
me." Our constant goal is to lift Christ high as the
Center-piece of our Church.
BIBLE BELIEVING: We believe the Bible to be the
Word of God. There is only one Bible "translation" in
English that is without error and without
contradiction. The King James Bible is all we use. We
reject all other "versions", and any extra "Biblical"
publications.
BIBLE PREACHING: We at Bethany Baptist Church
have a sincere desire to preach the Bible. Not the
opinions of man, the traditions of men, or the
philosophies of this world. In fact we believe that
everything coming from the pulpit should be Biblically
based. The Word of God is our authority, our
guidebook, a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our
path. With so many "feel good" and "positive"
preachers out there, it is easy to confuse Biblical
preaching and contemporary philosophy. Not every
message God gave to His messengers was positive.
Jesus even said; "Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise
perish." Not too positive, but still the message from
Almighty God to sinful man.
BIBLE PRACTICING: What good is it to have the Bible,
to read it, to be taught its principles, to be preached to
from it if we do not live what it says? A real problem
exists in Christian America where people who claim to
be Christians and are anything but Christ-like. We are
striving to be more like the Son of God every day. We
believe Christians should be distinctly different, so we
practice the Bible.
